Taiwanese Analysts Revised Down the Shipments Forecast of Apple Watch

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Kuo Ming-Ji, an analyst of Taiwan KGI, said yesterday that consumers’ enthusiasm for apple watch seems to start cooling, forcasted the orders of Apple Watch will reduce 20% to 30% in the third quarter of this year, the shipments is about five million to six million units, 2015 shipments may be lower than fifteen million units.

Kuo Ming-Ji noted that Apple Watch’s shipping time are mostly in June, which has no change since the opening pre-order, and the quantity of production in the second quarter is enough to meet the orders. These phenomena show the demands may be slowing down.
Thus, Kuo Ming-Ji revised down the third quarter shipments of Apple Watch of five million units to six million units, 2015 shipments below fifteen million units. Originally year shipments forecast was twenty million units to thirty million units.
Under the potential risk, the supply chain of Apple Watch may also be impacted, the assembly services provider Quanta will be the most affected companies.
