Mark Mobius: Taiwan Should be Aware of the Emerging Red Supply Chain

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Mark Mobius, the fund Manager who popularised investment in emerging markets, came to Taiwan second time in the same year. Stated that Taiwan should be aware of the emerging “Red Supply Chain”, as the rising Xiaomi and Huawei do challenge the Taiwanese and global smartphone makers.

Mark Mobius said that “Taiwan still got a lot of opportunities, including TSMC these tech giants that have the core technologies. Therefore, it’s the most competitive part of Taiwan.”
However, Mark Mobius suggested that the rising Chinese handset makers like Xiaomi and Huawei are acapable of competing with global handset providers.
“For Taiwan industry, China is not only a competitor, but also a potential market and a partner.” added Mark Mobius.
Meanwhile, China is the biggest weighting in Mobius’ Asian funds, followed by India and Thailand. Moreover, he favors banks on the outlook for financial reforms, as well as auto and technology stocks for their growth prospects.
