iST Certified by HDMI Cable to Issue Security Label

iST is certified by Simplay Labs (US) as ATC partner for HDMI/ MHL tests

TAIPEI, Taiwan - iST, a Taiwanese verification service provider for the electronic industry, announced today that it has been certified by the Simplay Labs as the first qualified of The Premium HDMI Cable Certification in Taiwan. As a result, iST is now ready to certify HDMI cables made by local manufacturers for quality and performance of high speed HDMI cables in providing 4K/UltraHD contents as well as to issue security labels.

The Premium HDMI Cable Certification Program debuted by the HDMI Licensing LLC lately is aimed at helping HDMI cable users to ensure true 4K/UltraHD AV entertainment.

Test requirements exerted by this program are designed to ensure HDMI cables’ HDMI2.0 support for the latest and most advanced video specifications including 18 Gbps bandwidth, 4K/UltraHD, wide color gamut and high dynamic range (HDR). The certification program also contains EMI testing standards and the 6G eye diagram to cut interference caused by wireless signals in connection devices to ensure delivery of HD images to TV sets.

The program also offers HDMI cable security logo to help manufacturers, dealers, retailers and consumers in identifying and purchasing true and quality HDMI AV cables.

Being an Authorized Testing Center (ATC) of HDMI Licensing LLC and qualified by Simplay Labs for this program, the iST is now beginning to provide certification services for HDMI cable suppliers and to issue security labels for products that have successfully qualified, noted YU Tianhua, Director, Signal Testing Unit, iST.

For those who failed the tests, iST will provide debugging consultancy and assist customers in getting their products certified for a fast launch with its engineering team composed of veterans from industries of digital and analog IC designs, system hardware, software and driver design along with two decades of experience in failure and material analysis.
