Five Driving Forces of Communication Industry in 2016

TAIPEI, Taiwan — The Industrial Economics and Knowledge Center (IEK) forecast that as the spread of personal end device, the annual value of communication industry would be increased in 2016. Despite that, the global shipment of smartphone would be decreased by double-digit year-over-year. And there are five driving forces of communication industry in the coming new year.

IEK considered the local manufacturing, ultra high-speed broadband, IoT, Smart Home, LTE-U, NFV and SDN to occupy the Carrier market, are five important driving forces of communication industry in 2016.

IEK cited that more and more companies would penetrate in the applications and connections of Internet of Things (IoT).

As to the smartphone, IEK pointed out that the mid-tier and low-entry level handsets would be a very important growth driver of the industry.

One of the unmistakable trends is the integration of smartphone, wearable device and IoT. Coping with the trend, the type of end device would be more colorful. The application would step into life record, business, healthcare and entertainment.
