IBM and HCL Technologies to Jointly Build Hybrid Cloud Solutions

IBM and HCL Technologies (HCL) a global IT service provider today announced a strategic partnership to jointly build hybrid cloud solutions to help enterprises drive their digital transformations.

HCL will use Bluemix, IBM’s Cloud platform to build applications and solutions in the areas of Unified Service Management and Internet of Things (IoT). The Unified Service Management offering will help clients manage the most demanding and complex service delivery environments.

HCL will also use IBM Cloud’s Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), SoftLayer, to offer cloud-based solutions to its clients. HCL will be able to leverage the full-range of SoftLayer infrastructure services, including bare metal servers, virtual servers, storage, security services and networking in addressing the needs of their clients.

Bluemix, launched in 2014 with a $1 billion investment, has quickly risen to become the largest Cloud Foundry deployment in the world, providing a developer-friendly of more than 120 tools and software services that combines the most prominent open-source, IBM and third-party technologies.

HCL offers end-to-end cloud lifecycle management and orchestration platform to enterprises through HCL MyCloud to efficiently manage and control their hybrid cloud infrastructure. HCL Mycloud has an easy-to-use interface to help provision, monitor, manage infrastructure and enable metering and chargeback on the cloud.
