The event registration system hosted on Acer’s e-business platform will provide registration, draw result notification, and payment services for participants. The platform allows for individual registrants as well as provides tools to simplify the workflow of team registrations.

Acer will also power the dedicated smartphone application for the event, providing news updates, weather, and real-time traffic information in the area, in addition to the real-time runner status and event photo features introduced last year.

The 42.195 km runners will receive a personalized run analysis report, based on data obtained from the runners’ timing chip through the sensor mats along the course. The information uploaded to the event platform through Acer cloud technology, will be automatically analyzed to create the report, which can serve as a reference for the runners’ future training plans. The data can also provide the runners and organizers with precious insight through big data analytics.

The 2016 New Taipei City Wan Jin Shi Marathon, certified with the IAAF’s Road Race Bronze label, will take place on March 20, 2016, along the scenic north coast of Taiwan. Registration has opened on November 13 for three races: the 42.195 km Marathon, the 14 km Challenge Run, and the 7 km Fun Run, allowing a maximum of 5,500, 4,500, and 2,000 participants respectively.
