NVIDIA noted that its goal is about to provide them with grants and technical support so they can achieve breakthroughs, some of which wouldn’t have been possible without extra funding. NIVIDA will select doctoral students for graduate student grants of $25,000 each for research that advances parallel computing.

Besides funding, winners will get access to NVIDIA technology and programming talent. NVIDIA Chief Scientist Bill Dally awards honorary check to Jin Wang, one of its 2015 fellowship winners.

Since its start in 2002, the NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship Program has awarded over 125 grants worth more than $3 million. Candidates need to be studying computer science, computer engineering, system architecture, electrical engineering or a related area.

Applicants must be engaging in active research as part of their thesis work. The NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship Program for the 2016 academic year is open to applicants worldwide. The deadline for submitting applications is Jan. 15, 2016.
