Memora, Elan, Avisonic Roll out the World’s Smallest 360° Camera

HSINCHU, Taiwan — Memora cooperates with Elan Microelectronics Corp. and Technology Corp. in developing arguably the world’s smallest 360-degree camera—Luna...

The Luna is designed to give out a full 360-degree panoramic view in a photo just by a single click. As a matter of fact, one of its target markets is to replace the traditional camera. Furthermore, high hopes pinned on this device in an attempt to be a must in the coming IoT era. Kevin Lin, Avisonic Technology Corp.‘s Director at the sales & Marketing Center & Product Plan Division said.

“We hope the Luna will succeed in the VR camera market at the first stage, and become an indispensable tool in sharing 360-degree images and videos, any time, any where. Relatively, the long-term goal of Luna is to make best use of the device’s image analysis technology in a bid to tag times, dates, numbers, names and addresses of images and videos, synchronously.” said Kevin Lin.

By analyzing VR images and videos, it becomes AR. Kevin Lin remarked.

VR and AR businesses are the most important growth drivers in the IT industry, by means of the device’s VR features to penetrate the AR market is arguably rational. Kevin Lin stated that integrating Luna with ZigBee Remote Control makes IoT era much more easier. “For instance, users can easily turn on/off lights from remote.”

Additonally, ZigBee Remote Control provides a global standard for advanced, greener and easy-to-use RF remotes that removes line-of-sight restrictions while also delivering two-way communication, longer range of use and extended battery life.

It was designed for a variety of consumer electronic devices including HDTV, home theater equipment, set-top boxes and other audio equipment. ZigBee Remote Control 2.0 is an expansion of the initial release, including new features that update the pairing process, standardize communication with sleeping devices, simplify IR support, improve communication with ZigBee Home Automation networks and enhance security.
