Inventec, Advantech to Form a Joint Venture Specializing in Industrial Wireless Handhelds

TAIPEI, Taiwan – Inventec, a Taiwanese electronic ODM provider, and Advantech, a Intelligent Systems company, jointly announced that the two sides will establish a joint venture company -Ying Yan Industrial Mobile Corp. The new company will focus on the research, production and sale of industrial wireless handheld devices.

The new joint venture company will be established in cash, with the 55% of shares owend by the Inventec and 45% by Advantech, will focus on the the research, production and sale of industrial wireless handheld devices. Its applications domains will include retail, automotive, medical and other vertical markets.

Richard Lee, chairman of Inventec, said that the strategic alliance between Advantech and the Inventec will be a win-win situation. The new joint venture company is not only a backing for Advantech’s brand, but also an important step for the Inventec to tramsform into a IoT applications company.

KC Liu, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said that Advantech has observed the strong demands for handheld online devices from its clients in terms of the industrial and smart cities applications, and he believes where have enormous growth potential.

He stressed that the new joint venture company will be capable to provide the highest level of industrial tablet PCs and other handheld devices in terms of design and manufacturing services, based on the Advantech’s understanding of customers and market, as well as the Inventec’s R&D resources in the software and hardware of mobile products.
