RTX is a compact and robust ARM-based Computer-On-Module (COM) specification for industrial applications, with 2.0 mm PCB thickness and four board-to-board connectors, it offers a solid and standardized platform with better anti-shock and anti-vibration capabilities.

The 400-pin high I/O expandability, along with the wide-range power input and wide operating temperature range, makes RTX is an innovative form factor for ruggedized applications.

Miller Chang, VP of Advantech Embedded Computing Group, said that rugged applications will be one of the main streams of IoT implementation.

“It’s challenging to design a rugged platform in a compact size with strong mechanical characteristics. RTX is an innovative technology for ARM-based computer-on-modules; that’s why we worked closely with our partners and peers to define and publicize the RTX open standard. We believe that ARM-based applications will be used extensively in the coming IoT era,” Miller said.
