Taiwan IC Revenue Totaled US$17.1B, 3.4% Declines On-quarter

According to WSTS, Q1 2016 worldwide semiconductor revenue reached US$78.3 billion, a year-to-year decline of 5.8% and down 5.5% on-quarter. Sales quantity reached 193.7 billion ICs, a 1.1% increase on-year and down 0.6% on-quarter. ASP was US$0.404, a 6.8% decline on-year and down 4.9% on-quarter.

Semiconductor revenue in the US reached US$14.7 billion in Q1 2016, a 15.8% decrease on-year and down 15.0% on-quarter. Revenue in Japan reached US$7.8 billion, a 1.8% increase on-year and up 0.8% on-quarter.

Revenue in Europe reached US$8.0 billion, a 9.8% drop on-year and down 3.6% on-quarter. Revenue in Asia reached US$47.8 billion, a 2.7% decrease on-year and down 3.5% on-quarter; among them, revenue in China reached US$23.8 billion, up 1.3% on-year and down 6.1% on-quarter.

The TSIA survey showed that Q1 2016 Taiwan IC revenue as a whole (including design, manufacturing, packaging and testing) totaled US$17.1B (3.4% decline on-quarter and down 4.6% on-year), with US$4.6 B in design (9.7% drop on-quarter and up 6.8% on-year), US$9.3B in manufacturing() (up 0.9% on-quarter and down 9.4% on-year; Foundry US$7.8B, up 2.5% on-quarter and down 5.9% on-year; Memory US$1.5B, down 7.0% on-quarter and down 24.2% on-year), US$2.3B in packaging (4.8% decrease on-quarter and down 4.8% on-year), and US$1.0B in testing (7.3% decrease on-quarter and down 4.7% on-year).

Taiwan IC revenue in 2016 is expected to reach US$71.7B (1.0% increase from 2015), with US$19.7B in design (5.8% increase), US$37.9B in manufacturing (1.7% decrease; Foundry US$33.1B, up 4.5%; Memory US$4.9B, down 29.7%), US$9.9B in packaging 1.6% increase), and US$4.2B in testing(up 2.7%).
