Computex 2016 will open in two weeks when MediaTek, Taiwan’s a fabless semiconductor company, will unveil a series of IoT applications and solution, such as wearable equipments and wireless connectivity which shows its ambitiousness to expolit IoT market opportunities.
According to MediaTek announcement on September 2015, a series of global partnerships has been made including Amazon, Tinitell, Apple, People Power and tender offer to Richtek to expand IoT business line. Amazon Fire TV choses to equip with the Media Tek multimedia chip MT8173, quad core processor (2x Cortex A72, 2x Cortex A53).
At CES 2016, MediaTek has unveiled a new system on chip to help power smart home products. In addition, MediaTek just announced the MT2511, MediaTek's first bio-sensing analog front-end (AFE) chip designed for health and fitness devices.
