Since joining Acer in 2010, ST Liew has played an important part in the development of the company’s smart devices. Under his leadership, Acer has grown its smart device portfolio from smartphones, wearables, to PC phones and lately a smart accessory in collaboration with a renowned Swiss brand watchmaker.
ST and his teams have also established partnerships with several leading telecom operators around the world to distribute Acer smartphones, expanding Acer’s smartphone reach to new regions and new channels.
“Be the Game Changer for Smart Devices” is the company’s focus and vision for this market in recognition of the ever-changing needs of smart device users; hence, in March Acer regrouped its organization to have the smart products and BYOC departments working alongside each other. This structure remains intact, only the product management teams for smartphones and wearables will join the IT Products Business in order to streamline our hardware development process.
The current organization structure aims to address the diverse development needs of IT hardware products versus cloud services, smart devices and e-businesses, allowing for each group the independence to focus within its ecosystem, and accelerate the company’s overall transformation.
