“Compared with the prior month, 40- and 60-watt equivalent LED light bulbs both saw a decline of 0.6% in their global average selling prices in October,” said LEDinside Allen Yu. “The 40-watt equivalent LED light bulbs arrived at US$9.2, while the 60-watt came to US$12.6.”

The recovery of LED market demand in September led to the stabilization of LED chip prices. Some chips even saw their prices went up due to supply shortage. This trend continued in October and has also kept package prices steady in China. On the whole, prices of 2835 and 5630 LEDs in the Chinese market have been relatively constant during these few months.

EMC 3030 LEDs are the exception to the trend as their prices have been on a slide. International suppliers lowered prices of EMC 3030 LEDs in October, causing a monthly drop of 0.9% on average.

“International suppliers are gradually cutting prices for EMC 3030 LEDs in response to more Chinese competitors entering this market,” noted Yu.
