Entering its third edition, “GameStart2016” opened at Suntec Convention Center on October 7. A total of 67 companies partook in the exhibition, showcasing over 48 games and organizing 12 exciting esports tournaments and the three-day event attracted over 10,000 players in Singapore.

Since 2015, Taipei Game Show and GameStart have become key partners, introducing outstanding independent game development teams to each other. This year, five independent teams from Taiwan went to Singapore for the exhibition.

The Taiwan delegation consisted of 7Quark, Erotes Studio, Expect Studio, LiRise, and Red Candle Games, and exhibited at the event self-developed mobile games “Mr. Catt” and “School Fight Fight,” and PC games “Erisle,” “Blue Blood Lagoon,” and “Detention.”

“Expect Studio” was founded by a group of college students in 2014. Their self-production, “Erisle,” is an ARPG created with Unity5 game engine. Set in the future, the story takes place in a fantasy world on the mysterious continent, Avalon, with traces of medieval civilization.

Striving to build Asia’s game licensing platform, Taipei Game Show attracted 1,582 professional visitors from 22 countries in 2016. The number of Japanese visitors is the most, and then Mainland China and the Southeast Asian region. Taipei Game Show 2017 “B2B Zone” and ‘Indie Game Festa” will open from January 19th to 20th, and has received applications from game development teams and publishers from more than 25 countries.
