XYZprinting's 3D Color Jet solution integrates ink jet and thermal melting (FFF) technologies while utilizing the CMYK color “mixing mode” and spraying polylactic acid (PLA) on wire rods in order to achieve high accuracy and precision color positioning.
This patented technology integrates the finely detailed coloring of ink jet printing with advanced professional 3D printing technology to achieve high precision coloring in the creation of multi-layered 3D printed objects. This means that 16 million levels of colors can be attained and sprayed onto 3D printed models in any location – on a hollow sphere, for instance.
In addition, CMYK specialized processing yields extremely highly stabilized inks which even when submerged in water will not lose their coloring, and this specialized feature expands the range of applications for which da Vinci Color can be utilized.
XYZprinting CEO Simon Shen stated, “Through the use of 3D Color Jet technology, da Vince Color can provide accuracy for a full range of colors. It is a breakthrough in the progressive development of 3D printing technology, and it is unparalleled among all other available 3D printers on the market.”
