Canadian Solar to Establish Factory in Taiwan

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Global top five solar modular manufacturer Canadian Solar will establish a factory in Taiwan, which will possibly be located in Houkou Township, Hsinchu with a production capacity of approximately 500 million watts(MW) module capacity.
The Taiwanese government has been making every effort to develop green energy, and solar power is an important component of this endeavor. Consequently, Canadian Solar has selected Taiwan as a location to construct a factory, and they have already submitted an application for investment to the Ministry of Economic Affairs Investment Commission, which is pending approval.
Regarding the building of this factory in Taiwan, Canadian Solar yesterday explained that they are currently in the preliminary planning stage, and they are planning to commence construction in 2018. Furthermore, they will not be able to explain the production capacity scale until after formal operations commence.
