The latest STBs powered by the TCC899X SoC series decodes 4K video at 60 frames per second with a responsive 4K UI while handling other stringent requirements including: Dolby Vision, the advanced security capabilities of Nagravision, Cisco and Verimatrix, and other conditional access systems.
Utilizing an ARM processor with a quad core Cortex-A53, and leveraging the 14 nanometer (14 nm) process power consumption advantages, Telechips delivers state-of-the-art graphics performance and application processing speeds. This will allow customers to produce industrial designs that are smaller and cooler, and enable solutions to be directly powered from a 4K TV’s HDMI2.0 port and provide Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
“Telechips has listened to market leading operators and selected 14nm over existing choices, including 28nm, to pack core technologies into a design that addresses the premium video needs of our target customers,” said BM Lee, VP of Telechips’ Consumer Electronics Division. “The product family unleashes creativity in STB form-factor design, enjoys low power consumption without compromise and reduces cost for video delivery.”
This chipset aims to leapfrog the competition in Wi-Fi driven IPTV or OTT and drive the complete solution for mass volume deployment.
