Holtek announced the release of its new 32-bit Pulse Oximeter MCU, the HT32F59045. The device uses an Arm® Cortex®-M0+...

These new 32-bit Flash devices, include features such as a high operating speed of up to 48MHz for the HT32F523xx USB series and up to 40MHz for the HT32F522xx Value series. Additional functions include multiple high speed external interfaces, such as USART, UART, SPI and I2C interfaces and for the HT32F523xx series an additional USB 2.0 FS Device interface.

Other features include a real time clock, comparators as well as many others. These devices are suitable for a wide range of applications such as IoT terminal devices, wearable devices, USB game peripherals, intelligent home appliances, home automation products, intelligent toys, personal health care products, consumer electronics, data collection and recorders and so on.

The full series operate with a single power supply operating voltage range of 2.0V~3.6V and an industrial temperature range of -40°C~85°C. The full device range include multiple power saving management modes, power-on reset (POR), multi-level low voltage detection (LVD), brownout detection (BOD) etc.

In addition to an external crystal oscillator, the devices also contain accurate internal RC oscillators that provide both 8MHz and 32kHz frequency clock sources. An internal clock monitor function is used to automatically switch to the internal oscillator when an invalid external crystal oscillator situation arises. The HT32F523xx series can implement a crystal-less USB solution for USB applications thus reducing the cost of external oscillator components.

The HT32F523xx devices contain 32K~128K bytes of Flash Program Memory and 4K~16K bytes of SRAM Data Memory and a 6-channel high speed PDMA along with a high speed EBI – external bus interface. They also include a multi-function I2S audio interface and a CRC16/32 data verification function.

The HT32F523xx devices are supplied in 33-pin QFN and 48/64-pin LQFP package types and contain from 24 to 51 GPIO pins. The HT32F522xx series devices contain 16K~64K bytes of Flash Program Memory and 2K~8K bytes of SRAM Data Memory. They are supplied in 24/28-pin SSOP, 33-pin QFN and 48-pin QFP package types and contain from 19 to 40 GPIO pins.

With regard to development tools, the devices are fully supported by professional IDE suppliers including IAR and Keil. Additionally, Holtek also provides its own low cost demo boards and development platform kits. The Holtek development platform includes an ICE e-Link32, a full set of peripheral driver program libraries, a range of application example source code as well as application development handbooks.

With Holtek’s integrated ISP (In System Programming) and IAP (In Application Programming) technology, all the tools are at hand for rapid firmware updates and improvements to product flexibility and production efficiency, features which combine to allow customers to reduce their development time and seize the initiative for new product market entry.

Note that the 24 and 28 pin package types are not marketed in the following countries: USA, UK, Germany, The Netherlands, France and Italy.
