Holtek announced the release of its new 32-bit Pulse Oximeter MCU, the HT32F59045. The device uses an Arm® Cortex®-M0+...

The HT45F4630 includes a 2K word capacity Flash Memory, 128 bytes of Data Memory, 12-bit A/D Converter, two 16-bit PTMs and two 10-bit PTMs. In addition, the peripheral functions include a fully integrated high voltage bridge driver with an over current protection function, a battery voltage detection circuit.

To complete the picture, additional functions include a 512 byte capacity EEPROM, temperature sensing circuit, I2C interface and an operational amplifier etc. The over current protection function, in addition to being used to detect excessive motor currents, can also be used to detect the latched position of electronic locks.

The EEPROM can be used to store RFID tag information, passwords or other related parameters while the I2C interface is used for external communication. The operational amplifier can be used to process 125kHz RFID signals or for other OPA functions. This very high level of functional integration feature makes the device especially suitable for small profile products with limited space for external components.

Holtek of course also fully supports this device with its comprehensive hardware and software development tools. The hardware development tool is known as the e-Link which works together with an OCDS structured evaluation MCU to provide users with an actual device with which development emulation and debug can be implemented.

The software development tool is known as the HT-IDE3000, which includes features such as real time emulation, full memory and register access, hardware breakpoints complete with logical setups, trace analysis etc. This range of development tools ensure that designers have all the resources at hand to provide for rapid and efficient design and debug of their microcontroller based applications.
