This new device fully supports square wave and sinusoidal wave generation solutions, a feature which makes the device suitable for single phase and three phase Hall sensor type Brushless DC Motor applications.

With regard to the device’s other features, there is a 4K×16 capacity Flash Program Memory, 256 bytes of RAM Data Memory, a 4.5V~5.5V operating voltage range and an operating frequency of up to 20MHz. A fully integrated internal high accuracy RC oscillator is included along with a (6+1)-channel high speed 12-bit analog to digital converter.

As for timers, two 10-bit and two 16-bit timers are provided. To offer enhanced protection the device includes both low voltage detection and low voltage reset functions, which can be used to generate a warning signal or generate a reset when the power supply voltage falls below a fixed level. These features combine to provide additional safeguards to ensure stable operation under low power supply voltage conditions.

This device’s Brushless DC Motor control circuit includes a 16-bit capture timer for rotational motor speed control, a 10-bit PWM timer to provide three PWM complimentary output pairs complete with Dead Time function and full I/O polarity control. These motor control PWM signals operate within a single period but have three fully independent duty adjustment controls.

This new device includes an over current protection circuit along with an A/D converter, which is used together to implement the necessary protection features by turning off the PWM function and thus cutting off the output driving signals. The device is available in both 16-pin NSOP and 20-pin SSOP package types and meets with industrial specifications and has excellent noise immunity characteristics.
