TOYOTA Teamed up With ASUS in Smart car Stereo System

This smart stereo system has already been certified by TOYOTA Genuine Accessory

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Combining the previous TOYOTA All-in-One App and the ASUS Advanced Navigation System (ANS), TOYOTA again teamed up with ASUS' subsidiary company Unimax in smart car system, which is the perfect demonstration of a smart car as if there's a private secretary in the car. That is an ASUS tablet that inserted into the TOYOTA Vios and Yaris series, and automatically providing service to the driver while driving.

Kent Chien, President of UniMax Electronics Inc. said “It's the first car stereo system that supports NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth, and wireless charging, and paired with a tablet.”

The tablet has a Car Mode App, and when the tablet is inserted into the stereo system, it becomes the car secretary providing service for drivers. Telling weather, traffic, sensoring car conditons, avoiding accidents are its key functions.

For example, if the car run out of gasoline, a warning sign will pop up on the tablet screen to inform the driver need to refill it. However, the concept of Big Data and LBS is also being used in this system that the customized service will be provided as time goes by.

This smart stereo system has already been certified by TOYOTA Genuine Accessory (TGA), and will be put in to mass production as an optional acceessory for TOYOTA Vios and Yaris series, adding NT$50 to 60 thousand dollars to the cars' original prices.
