The reports point out that the iPhone 6 is a hot-selling item in China, and China’s second largest e-commerce platform, JD.com, has already presold nearly 10 million units. If the three largest telecommunications providers and other online sales platforms are also factored in, the total amount of presales has already reached over 20 million units.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are expected to formally go on sale in China this Friday, and on the tenth, they went on sale through China’s three largest telecommunications providers, Apple-affiliated e-commerce companies, and Apple’s official website.

China’s three major telecommunications providers, China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom, have not yet announced the presales figures; however, China media reports estimate that the three major providers presold over one million units within the first six hours.

By the evening of October 12, iPhone 6 preorders through JD.com had already surpassed 4.66 million units, while the iPhone 6 Plus had surpassed 4.82 million units, making a total of approximately 9.48 million new iPhones sold. If China’s three major telecommunications providers and other e-commerce platforms are factored in, over 20 million new iPhones have already been sold.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are hot items in China, which is bringing in significant profits for assembly plants and parts and components companies in Taiwan. Among them, Hon Hai Precision and Pegatron are the companies which have benefitted the most.
