TAIPEI, Taiwan - In 2016 Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robot show, NTU-iCeiRA demonstrated a medical assistance robot “Renbo”, which is a humanoid robot with very delicate joint structure, can help medical personnel to handle the work of labor.
The “Renbo” was designed by NTU-iCeiRA (National Taiwan University International Center of Excellence on Intelligent Robotics and Automation Research). Currently, it still a prototype, and this year was its second consecutive year to been showcased at the Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robot show.
According to NTU-iCeiRA, Renbo is a medical assistance robot, which is designed for supporting medical staff from a labor intensive task such as large equipment handling and transporting patients who is unable to walk.
This robot was still in development, and will be mainly used in medical institutions in the future.
