Holtek announced the release of its new 32-bit Pulse Oximeter MCU, the HT32F59045. The device uses an Arm® Cortex®-M0+...
In addition to its fully integrated 24-bit Delta Sigma A/D Converter, its internal LED driver supports 4 levels of current output control to directly drive LED displays without requiring external current-limiting resistors or transistors.
With few external component requirements and the resulting cost benefits, the device will find excellent use in LED display products such as electronic scales, thermometers and weighing module products.
The new device has 2K words of Flash Program Memory, 96 bytes of Data Memory and 32 bytes of EEPROM. The device also includes an accurate fully internal RC oscillator with selectable frequencies of 4MHz, 8MHz and 12MHz as well as an additional low speed internal RC oscillator with a fixed 32kHz frequency. The device includes a single Timer Module which has 3 different operating modes. These are Timer/Counter Mode, Compare Mode and PWM Output Mode.
To support the new device, Holtek naturally supplies a full suite of excellent hardware and software development tools including the HT-IDE3000 and ICE (In-Circuit-Emulator) which include trace analysis features, breakpoint setup as well as a host of other functions.
The Holtek's e-WriterPro also provides a means of In-Circuit Programming to allow for fast program updates during development. There are also a range of application guides to ensure developers have their designs up and running in the shortest time possible.
