Foxconn May Set Up Mobile Phone Factory in Yogyakarta, Indonesia

( Taipei , Taiwan ) according to Taiwan media reports, Indonesian Industry Minister Hidayat said that a few days ago , the Foxconn Group is considering to establish a smartphone factory in the Yogyakarta , but soon there will be concrete results.

Reported that Indonesia's Industry Minister Mohamad S. Hidayat told media in Jakarta a few days ago , as the price of land in Jakarta is expensive, Foxconn is considering set up smartphone factory in Yogyakarta. Foxconn has presented related projects currently to Yogyakarta, DC governor Sultan Hamengku Buwono.

Hidayat said the Foxconn was selected locations, if not in Jakarta, Yogyakarta will be selected, and Foxconn believe permit application in Yogyakarta is relatively easy, because the land is belong to Yogyakarta Sultan.

In early October, the Foxconn Group Chairman Terry Gou said after participating APEC, Foxconn will start a five-year plan in Indonesia in 2014, establish mobile phone factory in Indonesia, the relevant laws and regulations, and supporting partners will be in place.

Foxconn will transfer phone standard detection technology to Indonesia, and work with the Indonesian public departments, to prevent insecure phone from going to Indonesia. A Foxconn insider said that Foxconn is planning to develop a mobile testing center in Indonesia, there will be results recently.
