LINE acquire Taiwan Internet Startup Company Gogolook
Published: Dec 10,2013(Taipei, Taiwan) Korea-based Naver group, the LINE application developer, announced that it merged with Taiwan’s APP start-up company-Gogolook to broaden global APP market through combining bilateral advantages.
Gogolook was established in Taipei in 2012 and its number-identifying and text-blocking WhosCall APP, rated 4.5 stars on Google Play and praised by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, has more than 5 billion smartphone user totally around the world and 1 billion daily users.
According to LINE, they will actively embark on smartphone APP services after combing bilateral resources. Naver will own the stock of Gogolook in excess of 50 % to hold the operating authority, from unconfirmed resource.
Naver merge with Gogolook by its subsidiary company, Camp Mobile, but both of Naver and LINE Taiwan don’t reveal its merger condition as well as price.
Expert said that LINE can fill in its safety gap through adopting WhosCall related functions due to its frequent information safety problems recently. Besides, Gogolook has a strong analytic ability in traditional big data of pronunciation to support Naver’s layout of new field.
