Google announced this project at last April , after 18 months of construction , was inaugurated on Wednesday , including Joe Kava－vice president of Google's global data centers , Scott Beaumont －Google Greater China general manager, Chien－Google Taiwan general manager, Francis Liang－Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs, are to attend the opening ceremony .

Joe Kava said, set up a data center in Taiwan is part of Google's cloud computing program, choose to build in Taiwan is a correct decision, Google will continue develop long-term relationships with Taiwan.

The reason of plus investment, is optimistic about the growth potential of the Asia-Pacific Internet users. The number of Internet users in Asia accounted for about 50% of the global Internet population, and continue growing, with high-growth mobile Internet and online video, the Asia-Pacific region has become a major driver of global Internet growth, will depend on the data center in Taiwan to provide Asia users faster Internet service, Joe Kava said.

Francis Liang said , continuing to attract foreign investors to increase its investment in Taiwan is a very important affair. Google and Taiwan have a deep relationship , after the establishment of data center , Google will more closely with Taiwanese companies , in addition to hardware construction , also have opportunities to collaborate in software field , and use of Taiwan's innovation capability and talent in other research area.
