Vodacom is a mobile communications company providing voice, messaging, data and converged solutions to approximately 50 million active customers in South Africa, Tanzania, Mozambique, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Vodacom is moving from its existing device management solution to the Axiros platform. Under the terms of the agreement, all existing business customers will be transferred to Axiros, the technology leader in advanced service and device management.
Specifically, Vodacom will leverage Axiros' flagship product, AXESS.ACS, to monitor, provision and manage deployed Internet services including VoIP and high-speed connectivity. In particular, both Access Gateway and IP phone CPEs will be remotely controlled and configured by AXESS.ACS.
The AXESS.ACS platform is the leading subscriber device management system – deployed and productive at more than 35 percent of Europe's top 50 operators and carriers. Return on investment is high as it delivers a fast time to integration paired with a very short release cycle for new product introduction.
Direct benefits to Vodacom include improved operational efficiency and greater customer satisfaction, the second of which dovetails well with Vodacom's strategy of “doing more to improve the customer experience.”
Johann Pretorius, Vodacom's managing executive: Enterprise Technology,
said that these two factors were key considerations when selecting Axiros. “We're highly focused on customer satisfaction at Vodacom,” he said. “AXESS.ACS will enable us to deliver a more seamless customer experience. We're excited about making the move to Axiros.”
Matthew Hemming, Axiros vice president of sales and business development in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said he is pleased to build upon the existing relationship his company has with Vodacom's parent company. “We've had the pleasure to work previously with Vodafone and are excited to build upon our strong, strategic relationship by partnering now with Vodacom,” he said. “We look forward to providing Vodacom's business customers with the high quality and innovative services that the Vodafone opcos have come to expect from us.”
Nology, Axiros' local business and technology partner, played a key role in closing the deal with Vodacom.
