Acer Appoints Nancy Hu as CFO; Approves Eva Ho's Resignation

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Acer's Board of Directors has approved the resignation of Eva Ho, CFO, who has tendered her resignation due to personal reasons. She will be succeeded by Nancy Hu, formerly the vice chairperson and president of Videoland Inc., Taiwan. This management change is part of a well-planned transition that will take effect on May 1, 2014.

Eva Ho joined Acer as CFO in March 2012 and in these two years has led Acer through many challenges and accomplished her core assignment of establishing an integrated global accounting process. Ho tendered her resignation as part of her career planning, which the Board fully respects and has approved of this personal decision.

Nancy Hu holds an MBA from Florida International University and M.Sc. in Computer Science from Barry University in Florida, USA. She is also a certified public accountant in the U.S. and Hong Kong. Hu has held several advisory and management positions including vice chairperson and president of Videoland Inc.; CEO of Asia Television Ltd. Hong Kong; group CEO of Gold Typhoon Music Group, and independent director of Gigamedia Ltd. (NASDAQ listed).

During her post as president of Videoland Inc., the main supplier of satellite channels in Taiwan, Hu has been accredited with significantly improving the company operations. Along with her numerous years of service within Asia's cultural and creative field, professional accounting background, extensive social connection, and diverse thinking, Hu is regarded as a valuable talent to Acer that is seeking to transform to a hardware plus software plus services company, and looking for fresh and diverse ways of thinking.

As the new Acer CFO, Hu shall also serve as the company's official spokesperson.
