Taiwan ITRI Establishes Full-Function Display Testing Lab

TAIPEI, Taiwan-ITRI, a Taiwan's research institution, announced Tuesday the establishment of a full-featured display test lab, offer testing service for AUO, Innolux, CPT, Hannstar, E ink and other panel makers at once, as well as system vendors.

ITRI ‘s display test lab is the only one lab which sufficed VESA, SID, ISO, IEC and a number of cross-strait display verifications, also meet TAF certification. This laboratory also has capacity of testing on flexible displays, curved TV, electronic paper.

Duann Jia-Ruey, director of Center for Measurement Standards of ITRI, said, according to the report from IEK that output value of Taiwan's flat panel display industry was approximately NT$ 971 billion in 2013, annual growth of 6.3%, testing demand will increase.

Duann pointed out that, in addition to set up the test lab, ITRI has worked with industry association Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) to team with Taiwan's flat panel display manufacturers, formed a working group under SEMI Taiwan FPD Technical Standards Committee.
