NexGen Wafer Systems Introduces SERENO: A Versatile, High-Throughput Wet Etch and Clean Solution
NexGen Wafer Systems announced the launch of SERENO, its latest multi-chamber platform designed for Wet Etch and Clean applications...
This year the Conference will particularly invite TSMC、UMC、GlobalFoundries and other 4 IC companies to share newly developed technology and the upcoming tendency.
Wu Xian-Yang, Director of TSMC, shared his opinion about the advanced CMOS technology. He thought that Sur-Moore’s Law technology, which takes advantage of 3D IC and TSV to create heterogeneous integration platform, will achieve more multiple application, while CMOS is steering the emerging industry following Moore’s Law.
Huang Ke-Qin, Marketing Director of UMC, said that under the developing IoT, foundry manufacturer should integrate different sensors of eNVM, RF, MEMS with low power-consumption technology in any scenario to meet the challenge from IoT.
Wu Cheng-Wen, VLSI-DAT Conference Steering Committee, made a point that automobile electronics is a crucial element to realize smart-automobile and is a new opportunity for Taiwan’s ICT industry.
VLSI-DAT started to focus on automobile electronics technology since 2011 and this year fueled by 4G and IoT technology, smart- automobile has become a blazing topic including long-distance community technology, SOI, automobile electronics design, advanced complementary driving system and self-driving technology.
Ronald M. Martin, Vice-president of Automotive R&D at Freescale, said that followed by the wide-ranging electronics used in the automobile, automobile electronics appealed to great attention by automobile and foundry manufacturers. Among them, the developing direction has transferred to circuit module、embedded SoC、integrated diagnosis system for safety as well as consumer’s need.
Especially the self-driving, the driving safety will be increased by combining sensory system with advanced computing technology used in automobile. Also, the needs for automobile inter-communication will cause a revolution in the internet and communicated equipment in automobile.
As the booming IoT topic, Dipesh Patel, Executive Vice President of ARM, will deliver a speech during the symposium to discuss how IoT changes digit and life. In his opinion, IoT is a combination of smart sensory unit, network, and related services rather than a singular business or market. Hardware designer should deeply find out the correlation between every component and environmental network to fully satisfy various needs and cloudy application.
