Hon Hai Embraces IoT, Starting A New Game

TAIPEI, Taiwan-Hon Hai Group signed strategic cooperation agreement with 21ViaNet to start up its transformation. In the future, Hon Hai will connect automation with IoT and Cloudy computing and finish its transformation comprehensively before 2020.

Hon Hai chairman Terry Gou said that the cooperation is a signal which means the beginning of Hon Hai’s transformation. China’s local media describe this transformation as “The king of OEM turns round”.

Terry Gou made a point that several of Hon Hai’s factories operated without light and part of labors had been replaced by robots and robotic arm. He foresees optimistically that the automation will deeply rooted in begins’ life.

“In 20 years, it is possible to receive instant noodles by internet” he added.

Hon Hai will build up a new data center in this cooperative project and the primary sites had chosen in China, Tianjin, Shenzhen, Guiyang and Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Terry Gou pointed out that IoT Era has arrived and foundries must also keep up with this trend. For several years ago, Hon Hai expected that automation will be more in-depth for human life and embarked on deploying robots used in the production line project.
