Raising of Touchable Notebook Boosts Elan April Revenue

TAIPEI, Taiwan-ELAN Microelectronics Corp announced its monthly financial result, showing the operating income of NT$ 0.733 billion, MoM of 15% and YoY of 5% in April. The ratio of touchable application to total revenue has reached 57%, of which revenue of touchscreen chip accounted for 28.5%, touchpad module for 28.5% and non-touchable revenue for 43%.

ELAN stated that the increasing revenue is benefit from new customer and new application. Especially the application of touchable notebook chip, its sales has returned to more than million copies at a level of standard. Moreover, the sales volume of touchpad module rose 20% in April because of new Google Chromebook laptop.
Touch phone chip shipments benefited from Japan and China branded product sales growth, in addition, pointing stick revenue also to grow by 4% compared with March.
ELAN also announced that its wearable device chip has shipped recently to Japan-based smart glasses manufacture, and another customer’s order will expect to ship in Q3 2014.
