Orders Congestion in Taiwan IC Foundry

TAIPEI, Taiwan-According to Taiwan Media reports, the 8-inch and 12-inch factory orders of TSMC and UMC are overload, resulting in delivery increased from one quarter to more than five months, estimated that until the end of this year to return to normal.

A source of IC design company said that, strong recovery in the semiconductor industry resulting in an influx large of orders of Taiwan IC foundries this season. Especially in the TSMC, all processes are queuing up to tide, customers concerned about the possible impact on time to market, and therefore more aggressive orders.

Industry pointed out that the extent of the foundry capacity clogging is never happened, even if you can book production capacity now, the delivery time was extended to five months from one quarter.
