HTC at an earlier financial results meeting predicted that the amount of third quarter shipments in India will double the amount of second quarter shipments. HTC global services Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer Zhang Jia-lin stated, “HTC has high hopes for the Indian market during the second half of the year.”

Zhang Jia-lin also stated that the HTC brand is very popular in India, and through physical channels and online sales as well as sales for the Diwali Holiday in October (India’s New Year), third quarter shipments are expected to double with continued growth in the fourth quarter.

In addition to HTC, Asus is also actively developing the India market. Asus has currently already launched the ZenFone series and has sold a record 40,000 units in just four days. At the same time, Asus is aiming for the goal of becoming one of India’s top five cell phone retailers next year.

In addition to smart phones, Asus has already launched tablet and notebook computers in India.

Chinese cell phone brand, Xiaomi has an even more active presence in the India market. Xiaomi is not only making substantial investments, but also planning to establish a design team in India and develop mobile services aimed at the India market.

Xiaomi believes that India will be Xiaomi’s most important market outside of China and is therefore making large-scale investments in India, including establishing a local design team, developing a fusion with Bollywood, and developing cricket-style mobile networking services.
