TAIPEI, Taiwan — UWin Nanotech Co. is one of the participants and a supplier of Green Alchemy in IT industry. It independently conducts research and development in order to carry out environmentally friendly gold stripping. UW-700, an electrolyte gold stripper, is their secret weapon, and won the gold medal in the 2014 Taipei International Invention Show and Technomart (Taipei INST).

UWin Nanotech UW-700 won the gold medal of the environmental protection category in Taipei INST, which is a Cyanide and Agua Regia free product that makes gold stripping enviromentally-friendly and economical. UW-700 has no corrosiveness, no effect on substrates, and its stripping rate is fast and safe.
“Each bottle of UW-700 contains 600 grams of power, which can strip 70 grams of gold. Furthermore, each UW-700 is priced at NT$4,000 and can create NT$91,000 in gold stripping. Most important of all, it does not harm the environment or human beings,” said Kenny Hsu, Managing Director of Uwin Nanotech.
UWin Nanotech's independently researched and developed metal stripping formulas are environmentally friendly and cyanide-free prescriptions, and the metals that can be reduced from them include gold, silver, palladium, nickel, copper, tin, aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel. Furthermore, it provides two separate prescriptions that are suitable for situations involving both chemical stripping and electrolyte stripping.
Moreover, UWin Nanotech held the Gold Technology Camp periodically to teach students from elementary and junior high schools. “We vigorously advocate the Gold Technology Camp in views of changing the concept that only Aqua Regia dissolves gold,” Kenny added.
Among the 960 inventions sorted into 15 categories, one from each category is selected to receive the Platinum award, with an additional 153 gold medals, 153 silver medals, and 201 bronze medals. Platinum award winners include the “Bone Conduction Hearing Aid” by Chu Ka Industrial Co. Ltd., which benefits hearing aid users tremendously by using audio shock waves to transmit audio to the ear rather than the traditional ear hook method. National Chin-Yi University of Technology showcased the “The Surface Coating Method of Solar Panel” which transforms dull solar panels into aesthetic art pieces to which can be used as installation art in public places.
“A Novel Muscle Enhancer Sequence and Applications Thereof” patent by the National Taiwan Ocean University is used mainly to drive the muscle performance of fluorescent protein genes in Zebra fish, Angelfish and Tilapia, and has also successfully created the world’s first transgenic pink Angelfish. The “Radiotherapy system adapted to monitor a target location in real time” by Mackay Memorial Hospital can detect the position of a tumor accurately, reducing the discomfort of patients during radiotherapy.
The 2015 Taipei International Invention Show & Technomart will take place next year from October 1 to 4. The scale of the exhibition will be larger and is slated to feature more than 2,000 inventions on display. Additional activities such as multi-round games and voting contests on the best pavilion will also be held to enable the public to learn more about the exhibition activities and innovative products exhibited at the event. Everyone is cordially invited to participate again next year.
