Major TFT LCD Chemical Material Market for 2014 to Reach $2.7 Billion

According to IHS, among the materials used in manufacturing TFT-LCD panels, except for liquid crystal and gas chemicals, seven major chemical materials—photoresist, etchant, stripper, and developer used in manufacturing TFT array; and RGB resist, resin BM, and photo spacer used in manufacturing color filters—have created relatively large markets.

The materials market remains robust on the growth of the TFT-LCD market, but LCD process development has been almost completed with no further innovations expected, siad by IHS.
Thus, it is safe to say the industry doesn’t contain many variables in terms of changes in the market. Suppliers of these materials have different clients by material, but overall, there has not been a noticeable change.
Yet, in line with a growth in the Chinese LCD industry, this is becoming an opportunity for the companies within the supply chain.
IHS forecasts that the combined market of the top seven chemical materials is estimated at $2.7 billion in 2014 and is expected to grow slowly, at a CAGR of 2% till 2019.
