Many people travel with their smart phones, tablets, and laptops. The batteries with different voltages need different chargers may be a headache for travelers when they have to carry the cords for their devices as well.
The revolutionary product developed by Prof. Liang's team will make the travelling with electronic devices easier. In the coming future, you will need to carry only one charger which can provide energy to any electronic device, according to Prof. Liang.
He added, with new technology, the charger can detect the necessary voltages to electronic devices, not only more convenient but safer.
Normally, batteries of different voltages could be destroyed if connected to the wrong charger, and may even explode if overcharged. Prof. Liang's charger can determine the right voltage automatically and supply the proper current.
What makes this charger stand out from existing multi-voltage chargers is that it removes the communicating loop which is a chip identifying batteries in many multi-voltage chargers, Prof. Liang explained. He also noted that this design allows the charger can be made with a lower cost.
