Acer and ASUS Trying to Find a Business in Car Applications

Reported that Acer is developing cloud applications for automotive via its BYOC and Acer Open Platform (AOP), and works with BYOC partners, Chunghwa Telecom, EBM Technologies, APEX MEDICAL CORP. and Egis Technology, etc., to construct ecosystems.
Furthermore, after joining the Open Interconnect Consortium (OIC) with MediaTek, Acer plays a more important role of OIC. Acer joined less than six months, will help to develop the standard of "control and certification".
As for ASUS, Zeng Qiang-Sheng, vice chairman and president of ASUS, will attend a press conference of Taiwan Association of Information and Communication Standards (TAICS), to introduce a standard of Taiwan ICT industry.
Zeng is the key man of ASUS Smart Navigation System and have conducted the collaboration between HoTai Motor, Taiwanese manufacturer of Toyota. The navigation system has already be equipped in Toyota Wish since the fourth quarter last year.
