Asus currently anticipates selling 3 million units in the first quarter and beginning in the second quarter selling 1 million units each month. In the third quarter sales are expected to pick up to 2 million shipments each month, bringing the total yearly sales target to 25 million units.

However UBS in Taiwan points out that Asus’ original sales target was 16-17 million units. As soon as it surpasses 20 million units, Asus might seek out other OEM partners. Currently Pegatron is Asus’ only OEM partner for cellphones.

The ZenFone2 is priced between NT$4,990 and NT$8,990, which is lower than the originally anticipated sales price. On Monday, besides showcasing the ZenFone2, Asus also presented brand new accessories, including the first Android Xenon Flash, called the the ZenFlash, the first double LED fill-in light, called the Lolliflash, and the ZenPower. These products will be gradually launched during the second quarter.

In addition, Asus in the third quarter will launch and lock in sales of the Zen Selfie in order to meet the demands of taking self-portraits.
