“Most important of all, capabilities of Qi standard are evolving. Hence, more powerful, more spatial freedom, larger transfer distance, and more applications.”’ added Menno Treffers.

Menno Treffers is confident about Qi has the unmatched flexibility. “Both inductive and resonant to ensure the highest efficiency, lowest cost and RFI, and spatial freedom. Plus, backwards compatibility and interoperability, as well as scales from one to 2,500 watts to address any possible CE product and application. Namely, consumer, automobile, and industrial.”

However, finding ways to better the energy conversion efficiency and create a more user-friendly environment are challenges of wireless charging. Answering the question, Menno Treffers said that currenty the wireless charging is at around 85 percent comparing to wire charging, but as more and more money invested in the technology, “The efficiency of the wireless charging will be better than wire charing.”
