Simon Shen says the China market is about to be as important as the US market

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Simon Shen, CEO of XYZprinting, has shown up as an important representative and guest from the 3D printing industry at the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA). He suggested that the 3D printing market is a bullish trend, which is exactly the opposite of the PC market. “The goal of our 3D printers’ shipment in 2015 is around 100 thousand units to 120 thousand units.”

Simon Shen, explained that there are three main 3D printer product lines of the company, entitled with Nobel, da Vinci, and da Vinci Jr., respectively. That is, representing the high-end, mid-tier, and entry-level 3D printers modules. “I predict the entry-level modules should occupy 50 percent of our 3D printers’ shipment, and the mid-tier ones should occupy 35 percent, while the high-end products should occupy 15 percent.”

Simon Shen paraphrased that one of the government officials in China forecast there will be at least one 3D printer purchased for every elementary school in China in 2016 as educational material, “And it will be our growth driver of the third quarter and fourth quarter.” On the other hand, the China Market is about to be as important as the US market in terms of the market demand.

The company also forecast that there will be new da Vinci modules supporting the wireless printing, cloud printing, and even mobile device printing.

Last but not the least, Simon Shen expressed that the latest 3D printer module of the company isn’t simply a teaching material for elementary schools, but also for medical colleges. “Especially, it specializes in printing artificial skin.”
