Magellan and Abalta Announce Strategic Partnership at Auto Shanghai 2015

Magellan and Abalta Technologies, have formed a strategic partnership featuring Magellan's SmartGPS Eco navigation and content platform and Abalta's WEBLINK platform. Magellan is a long-time leader of innovative GPS devices and content services for vehicles, fitness, outdoor, and mobile navigation. Abalta is a fast-rising technology company producing groundbreaking solutions to create the ideal connected car experience.

The partnership, focusing on advanced, cost-competitive connected car solutions for auto OEMs, adds Magellan navigation, smartphone apps, and cloud content to any vehicle that is infotainment ready. Magellan's SmartGPS Eco cloud platform aggregates location relevant content, such as fuel prices and business locations, and delivers that content onto the navigation map. The Abalta WEBLINK platform enables the display and control of smartphone apps, including Magellan's SmartGPS apps, on virtually any infotainment display.

The new partnership's solution is being demonstrated in the MiTAC booth (# 6BH303) at the upcoming Auto Shanghai 2015 show from April 22-29 at the National Center for Exhibition and Convention in Shanghai, China.

The SmartGPS Eco is the latest advancement from Magellan featuring the company's cloud platform bringing together navigation, content services, iOS and Android smartphone apps, and connected car platforms. It delivers money-saving content, keeps drivers informed with relevant location and social content, and provides safer navigation. The SmartGPS Eco is built on a robust cloud architecture supporting flexible content aggregation, personalization, and localized delivery, and is specifically designed to integrate with connected car solutions.

WEBLINK allows automotive OEMs to create a rich branded experience in the vehicle using the customer's smartphone to deliver the experience. In addition to supporting SmartGPS Eco, WEBLINK also supports a wide range of music, entertainment and news applications.
