The 11% decrease in sales quarter-on-quarter was mainly due to lower wafer shipments and a decline in average sales revenues per wafer. Bit shipments in the first quarter decreased by 6.5% quarter-on-quarter as a result of a lower volume of wafer shipments and an increased mix of DDR4.

Overall non-PC DRAM shipments accounted for 65% of the company's total revenues. The company expects its bit shipments to be flat to slightly up for the second quarter sequentially, and the portion of 30nm DDR4 DRAM will reach 40% of total output by the third quarter of 2015.

Inotera is on track to start 20nm ramp in the second quarter, and its first volume products in that technology include a 8Gb low-power DDR4 DRAM, a 8Gb GDDR5 DRAM and a 4Gb DDR3 DRAM. The company expects to introduce a multiple product portfolio through implementation of 20nm migration, and will convert about 80% of its total wafer-start capacity to 20nm technology by the end of this year.

Capital expenditures for year 2015 remain the same as previous guidance of approximately NTD 50 billion.
