iPhone 6S Will be a Boost to Taiwanese Supply Chains

TAIPEI, Taiwan — The iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are going to be released in the second half of the season, a massive iPhone 6S features referring to the handset will be powered by a faster processor, and come in a more compact size. Undoubtedly, the coming Apple’s handsets are going to be a boost to Taiwanese supply chains.

Rumor has it that the new devices will gain a faster A9 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 12-megapixel camera, an additional microphone to enhance voice quality, and potentially a new internal mechanical design to address some bending issues users experienced with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Allegedly, the detailed iPhone 6S features were obtained from a research note by market analyst Kuo Ming-chi, of KGI Securities, which was leaked to Apple Insider. He who suggested that the iPhone 6S would have a 12-megapixel camera, 2 GB of RAM, and that the screen size would be between 4.7 and 5.5 inches (the 5.5-inch screen size could be reserved for the Plus model).

Meanwhile, the iPhone 6S is also tipped to include an extra microphone to enhance voice call quality

However, the coming new iPhones are also expected to gain the Force Touch feature first introduced with the Apple Watch, allowing for new gestures that incorporate pressure sensitivity, and improved Touch ID to make fingerprint recognition faster. Kuo Ming-chi has also suggested Apple may use sapphire in a limited number of iPhone 6s Plus units, “if drop test issues can be resolved.”

The two new devices will also continue to offer features that have become integral to the iPhone, including Touch ID support, NFC for Apple Pay, 802.11ac Wi-Fi capabilities, and LTE Advanced.

Most important of all, the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are going to be a boost to Taiwanese supply chains that TSMC, ASE Kaohsiung, Inotera Memories, TPK Holding Co., Foxconn, Pegatron, to name a few.
