TCA pointed out that this year COMPUTEX will mainly feature the following four highlights: smart technology, mobile operations, cloud commerce and wearable applications. It will also feature telecommunications manufacturers, such as Asus, Acer, Intel, Microsoft, Gigabyte, MSI, Delta, ADATA, BenQ, Broadcom, XYZprinting, TSC, Posiflex, and HiteVision. Furthermore, at the National Development Council’s “Meet The Future” exhibition, ultra-thin laptops, 2-in-1 PCs, mini-PCs, gaming systems, as well as smart commerce, smart lifestyle, and creative products will be on display.
Owing to the strength of the smart lifestyle trend, leading companies such as ARM, ADE Kaohsiung, Quanta Cloud Technology (QCT), Japan’s NTT, The United States’ Cypress Semiconductor, and Mainland China’s Haier will all be participating in COMPUTEX for the first time. In addition, each company will exhibit their own wearable devices as well as smart lifestyle, cloud service, and smart city application solutions.
TCA stated that constructing smart lifestyle environments using IoT technology requires common standards in order to enable related equipment to automatically exchange information. Because of their broad scope of influence, there is a considerably large amount of IoT technological standards and related alliances, including Apple’s HomeKit communication protocol, Google’s Thread Group alliance, Open Interconnect Consortium (OIC), Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC), and AllSeen alliance. Taiwanese home electronics companies have also launched the TaiSEIA 101 home electronics equipment standard.
TCA believes that the main characteristics of smart lifestyle products are that their hardware structures utilize telecommunications product components and that they have IoT technologies in their product systems. In addition, they are operated through cloud frameworks. Through the integration of software and hardware, companies have linked up related telecommunications systems and Internet services. Consequently, through mobile devices, such as cellphones, tablets, and laptops, users can activate smart lifestyle products and even remote monitoring.
