TAIPEI, Taiwan — Not only do mergers and acquisitions popular in ICT industry, but also crossover is an unmistakable trend. XYZprinting is a 3D printer developer, however, the company debuted its service robot and humanoid robot at COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2015 as if to announce the company isn’t satisfied for being a merely 3D printer company.

Yanina Tu, Administrator of XYZprinting, Inc. introduced that there are three robotic products. Namely, the integrated service robot, the humanoid robot and the DIY Robot. The first one is functioned as its name, while the other two are made for educational and entertainment use.
“Indoor navigation, security, IoT control, mapping and telepresence are features of the integrated service robot.” stated Yanina Tu. Therefore, the robot monitors home for any foreign activity when user’s not there, and come withutilities such as indoor positioning and navigation technologies. As well as three form factors for beacon, IR, smoke and IoT detectors.
Moreover, Yanina Tu said the robot’s telepresence helps user to connect or collaborate with friends and co-workers whether it be for face-to-face meetings or just to catch up. Plus, advanced mapping technology allows the robot to learn and create a map of its environment for autonomous navigation.
Yanina Tu explained that the integrated service robot is made of a 10-inch panel, camera, microphone, speaker, infrared and laser sensor, ultrasonic sensor and another infrared sensor.
Meanwhile, the humanoid robot boasts of the most affordable advanced humanoid robot with 18 degrees of freedom, whereas the DIT Robot is with 10 degrees of freedom, respectively.
What’s more, XYZprinting is going to roll out food printer, professional 3D printer, and robotic products by the end of the fourth quarter of this year.
COMPUTEX TAIPEI runs through Saturday at the Taipei World Trade Center’s (TWTC) Hall 1, Hall 2 and Nangang Exhibition Hall as well as the Taipei International Convention Center.
