The other host organization, The Taipei Computer Association, pointed out that out of 2,000 Taiwanese electronics and information and communication companies, 1,200 are regular yearly participants. Among them, at least 1,000 companies only participated in the computer exhibition, and small and medium sized enterprises were the main platform for overseas sales.

The main spotlight of this year's COMPUTEX was on IoT companies, and over 700 companies exhibited IoT-related products or technologies. Some examples were handheld devices, wearable devices, wireless communications/transmission, cloud technology, smart home, smart lifestyle, and secure payment.

First-time participant, ARM launched the IoT-oriented CORTEX-M subsystem. Meanwhile, MediaTek announced the Helio P10 Octa-core System single crystal processing chip, the integrated Octa-core Cortex A53 CPU, and GPU graphics functions.

Wearable devices continued to be hot items at this year's COMPUTEX, from smart glasses, watches, and bracelets to smart rings and smart earphones. Furthermore, smart technology has become increasingly designed for household pets, with smart collars designed for cats and dogs and facial recognition feeders for cats.

In addition, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council plans to host SEMICON Taiwan 2015. In addition to providing companies with booths, it will be an environment for exposure to potential buyers. This year over the course of three days, a total of over 4,000 international buyers from 30 countries and 204 companies will participate. The most popular items for purchase are industrial computers, POS, wearable products, 3D products, memory, and cellphone parts and accessories.
