Acquisition of HTC is a Naive Thought: Acer

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Besides Asus, it’s speculated that Acer is one of the potential buyers of HTC. However, Jason Chen, Acer Corporate President and CEO said that acquisition of HTC is a naive thought, the company clarified it has no current investment plans in HTC.

Jason Chen noted that he is fully understand the current situation of HTC, “It’s difficult for Taiwanese brands to go global. Before I joined Acer, our company wasn’t better than HTC is now, but we have made some progress in the past 18 months.”
Jason Chen made it clear that acquisition of HTC is a naive thought, “Even though Acer has steadily turned its operations around.”
